Lease Purchase virtually identical to Hire Purchase, the only difference is that instead of paying a deposit of 10-15% you pay the deposit as a multiple of the repayments.
The remainder of the balance and the interest is paid by installments. The amount of installments is defined by the pause.
Example. A hire purchase agreement will have a 10% deposit which will be followed by 36 monthly repayments. The equivalent in a Lease Purchase would have a profile of 3 payments in advance then followed by 33 (if terminal pause) or 35 (if spread pause) monthly repayments.
For VAT and writing down allowances the eligibility is the same as hire purchase and the fee structure will be the same.
Once again Lease Purchase agreements will be based on fixed and variable rates and the commitment you pay each month could be reduced by the inclusion of a balloon.
